New Appointment of Executive Director at Initiatives of Change UK

We are delighted to announce the appointment of David Westlake as our new Executive Director, who began his role on Monday, 16th March.

David brings over 35 years of senior leadership experience across UK and international charities, including serving as CEO of International Justice Mission UK, where he led eight years of strong organisational growth, expanded partnerships, and launched impactful anti-slavery initiatives. His career also includes two decades in senior roles at Tearfund, where he oversaw global programmes, strategic development, peacebuilding initiatives, and major grant portfolios. David is widely recognised as a visionary leader, skilled in strategy, team development, partnership building, and fostering collaborative, values-driven cultures. We look forward to the leadership, experience, and passion he will bring to the next chapter of our work.

We would also like to express our deep gratitude to Denis, who will be stepping down in April after a magnificent two years leading the Charity with dedication, wisdom and grace. Denis has guided the Charity through an important period of transformation, strengthening our foundations and championing our mission with steady leadership. We are profoundly thankful for all he has given and for the spirit of generosity and the integrity he has modelled throughout his time with us, and he will be greatly missed.
