Building New Friendships

For the past year, a group of Hong Kong friends have been meeting at the IofC house in Norham Road, Oxford, at the invitation of Bekie Chan, a trained Creators of Peace Facilitator, and Su Riddell, Manager of the Norham Road house. All attendees are new arrivals to the UK. They have spent time together sharing conversations and creating activities to discover different sides of one another’s culture.

Over the past year, trust has grown within the social space the group have created, as well as a framework of friendship that focuses on expressing faith and shared values.

Here’s some photos from a recent food tasting event. The group had cooked a selection of Hong Kong snack foods to share with each other, all of which were dishes that can be bought from street stalls in Hong Kong. Brace yourself, if you are feeling hungry!
