On 19th January, Dr Alan Channer, director and producer of The Imam and the Pastor, and director of An African Answer films, was the guest speaker at the monthly online event for alumni of the Qualities and Strategies of Peacemakers course. He spoke about how the two films had come about, and the importance of the relationships of trust that had developed between film-makers and their subjects. He revealed how, after the launch of ‘An African Answer’ at the UN in 2010, Pastor James had recommended that he spend time in Kenya to take the film to different communities. And how this had led to the coming together of his early passion for Agricultural Botany and peacemaking, as he became deeply involved in the issue of land restoration in Africa.
