Archana Rao is currently building community and programming for young leaders in over 100 countries as Director of Global Community Engagement, Global Citizen Year, USA. She facilitates intentional leadership development programmes as a part of Vaishvik Naagrik Varsh, a project founded by Archana which partners with UNICEF, India. Through her work with IofC Archana provides strategic direction for the team as Director of Grampari, a rural and ecological centre since October 2013 and is involved as part of the core team with Creators of Peace India.
Previously Archana led the internship programme at Asia Plateau, and led and organised several international dialogues including Just Governance in India and Caux and more. Previously Archana lived and worked in London for 15 years: 9 years with Faber and Faber, building markets across the globe, and prior to that with a social housing NGO Shaftesbury Housing, building low-cost housing for key workers. Archana has an MSc in Development Economics from SOAS, University of London, a BA in Economics from Ithaca College, NY, USA and St. Xavier’s College, Bombay.
